Rainpuddle-splash After Dark

Rain beat on my umbrella
But I barred it out
Flip-flops
hydroplane
and I thunk
into the wee lake
as the rain chortles
victory
as my umbrella, battering-
rammed down,
fills up
a swimming pool for crickets.
